This tutorial was written in PSP 10 but you should be able to do it in any version of Paint Shop Pro.

Simple Filters HERE (4 Way
Average) A wide colorful graphic such as a 800 x 600 pixel graphic will work best.

OPEN
PAINT SHOP PRO 1 File > Open Your wide colorful graphic of choice. 2 Edit > Copy
3 Close your graphic.
4 File > Open breakaway_alphabyhooty
5 Window > Duplicate
6 Close the original.

Selections > Load/Save Selection > Load
Selection From Alpha Channel

Replace selection = Checked
Options = Nothing Checked Load

10 Edit > Paste Into Selection
11 Effects > Plugins > Simple > 4 Way Average
12 Effects > 3D Effects > Inner Bevel Settings: Bevel # 2, Width = 30 Smoothness = 30, Depth = 5 Ambience = 0, Shininess = 0 Color = White, Angle = 315 Intensity = 50, Elevation = 30
13 Selections > Load/Save Selection > Load
Selection From Alpha Channel
Settings: Selection # 3 Load
14 Materials Palette Foreground Select a light color from your image. Change your Foreground to Gradient Foreground-background Settings: Angle = 0, Repeats = 22 Invert = Checked Style = Linear, Texture = NOT Checked
Background Select a medium dark color from your image or of your own choice. Change your Background to a gold or silver fill pattern. Use your own settings. Texture = NOT Checked
15 Flood Fill Tool Settings: Match mode = None Use all layers = Checked Blend mode = Normal, Opacity = 100 Left click and fill your selection
16 Adjust > Add/Remove Noise > Add Noise Suggested Settings: (or use your own) Random selected. Noise = 10 Monochrome = NOT Checked
17 Layers > New Raster Layer
18 Effects > 3D Effects > Cutout Settings: Vertical and Horizontal both at 3 Opacity = 100, Blur = 6.00 Shadow color = Black Fill interior with color = NOT Checked
19 Selections > Load/Save Selection > Load
Selection From Alpha Channel

20 (F) Flood Fill Tool Right click and fill your selections.
21 Effects > 3D Effects > Drop Shadow Settings: Vertical and Horizontal both at 2 Opacity = 40, Blur = 5.00 Color = Black Shadow on new layer = NOT Checked
22 Effects > 3D Effects > Drop Shadow Settings: Vertical and Horizontal both at (minus) - 2

34 Materials Palette Change your Foreground to color and choose a text friendly color. This will be the same color as your background will be when you make your stationery. Your light color from the graphic that you chose earlier might be a good choice.
35 Flood Fill Tool Fill your layer with a color of your own choice.
36 Adjust > Add/Remove Noise > Add Noise
37 Layers > Arrange > Send to Bottom
38 Layers > Merge > Merge Visible
39 Optional step Layers > New Raster Layer Add Text and effects if you like. Use your own settings and procedure.
40 Layers > New Raster Layer Add your watermark.
41 File > Export > JPEG Optimizer Compression = 25
BACKGROUND TILE
1 File > New Settings: Width and Height both at 100 Pixels Raster Background Color Depth = 8 bits for PSP10 or 11 or for earlier versions of PSP 24 bits. Transparent = Checked
2 (F) Flood Fill Tool Left click and fill with your color.
3 Adjust > Add/Remove Noise > Add Noise
4 File > Export > JPEG Optimizer
