Needed: PSP 8

FM Tile Tools filters

 

Choose a graphic with a non busy or solid color background for the best finished results on this !

Use the graphic in it's full original size. A small size will be harder to get the desired results.

 

Before/After examples shown:

 

1. Open your graphic.

 

2. Ctrl + D  (Duplicate image)

 

3. Close out the original.

 

4. Layers/New Raster Layer 

 

5. Right click on the Background Layer in your layers palette and choose Promote Background Layer

 

6. Layers/Arrange/Bring to Top

 

7. Image/GreyScale

 

8. Ctrl + Shift + 0 (zero)  (Colors 24 bit)

 

9. Effects/Artistic Effects/Chrome

Settings: These are my settings and I saved

them as Silver

Flaws = 3, Brightness = 55,

Use Original color = Checked,  Color = White

 

10. Effects/Artistic Effects/Sepia Toning:

Settings: Age = 75

 

11. Adjust / Hue and Saturation Hue/Colorize

Note: You can adust the settings to get different colored results. Hue adjustments will basically be the one you change to change the color tone.

Saturation changes the strength.

The settings I have below are for getting what I used for this tutorial. Feel free to play and get the results you would like for the graphic that you are working with. I won't hold it against you! LOL 

Settings:   Hue=30, Saturation=130,

OK

 

12. Effects/plugins/FM Tile Tools/ Blend Emboss

Settings = Hor = -1, Vert = -1, Intensity = .125 , 

Gray Level=64,

Red,Green & Blue Blend all 3 at = .938

Edge Wrap = Checked!

Apply 

 

13. Color Palette: Change your background

color to SOLID and to the off white color

HTML #F5F5EF

 

14. Image/Add Border = 20

 

15. Magic Wand: Left click on the new border

 

16. Effects/Distortion Effects/Ripple

Settings: Horizontal & Vertical both at 20,

Amplitude = 3, Wavelength = 10

 Transparent box CHECKED

 

17. Effects/Texture Effects/Texture: LinenPOP

If you don't have this preset just wing it with something that might resemble old old paper

or just skip this step.

 

18. Effects/3D effects/Drop Shadow

Settings: Vert & Horiz both at +5

Opacity = 50, Blur = 4, Color = Black

 

19. Ctrl + D  (de-select)

 

20. Effects/Image Effects/Page Curl

Settings: Curl Settings Color = White, Radius = 40

Corner = Bottom Right, Width= 81, Height = 16

Edge mode= Color Checked (Dark grey)

 

Note: Where the graphic curls and leaves the grey background exposed should not be fixed.

Think of it as the photo separating from the

backing and the backing is what is exposed!

From here you can use it as a header or resize and use it on a sideborder stationary!
