NEEDED:
(Top Left Mirror from
Bonus Pack)
A graphic of your choice, preferably with
few dark aka almost blackish areas.
Optional
Put into your PSP Patterns folder
You may choose another pattern to
use if you like but expect different
results for your personal choices.
Performance notes:
All settings will
remain the same
unless otherwise noted.
For the D gold fold
fills , if you choose
to use another type of pattern or fill
that is fine, but for the purposes of
following this tutorial, use your
choice instead, every time the
D gold fold is mentioned.
Very nice results came
from using
other fills instead of the
gold !

BACKGROUND TILE
1 (E) Dropper Tool
Look at your graphic or header
and
right click on a dominant
color from
it that you would like your
background
to be.
Be sure that your Background in
your
Materials palette is on the
color setting.
Tip !
We will be adding noise to
your chosen
color which will lighten the
overall color
so you might want to be a little
darker
in your choice to get what you
like.
2 File > New
Settings:
Width and Height both at 10
Pixels
Raster Background = Checked
Transparent = Checked
OK
3 (F) Flood Fill Tool
Fill your new image with your
chosen
Background color. (right click)
4 Adjust > Add/Remove Noise >
Add Noise
Settings:
Random = Checked
Monochrome = Checked
Noise = 50 %
OK
5 Let's
preview your background !
Effects > Image Effects >
Seamless Tiling
I do this often before I save
a bg tile.
Show tiling preview = Checked
Show original = Checked
Now you see it as it will appear
when
you tile it later.
In this way you can make
changes if
needed or wanted before saving
it !
More
Tips!
You may choose to lighten or
darken it
using Adjust > Brightness and
Contrast >
Brightness/Contrast and
adjusting the
Brightness, for instance, to
meet
your creative taste.
Another Option !!
Many of our testers
favored adding
a new raster layer , flood
filling it with
a chosen color and lowering
the layer
opacity to make it more
compatible
with the frame and SB's and
to make
it more text friendly. Good
idea!
Personally, I think the gold
borders
look best against a dark
background.
Seamless tiling options ......
It is your option whether you
want
to use the seamless tiling or
not.
6 File > Export > JPEG
Optimizer
Compression = 25 recommended
Save as your background
tile.
