NEEDED:
I did this in Paint Shop Pro 9
Put this in your PSP gradients folder
before opening Paint Shop Pro.
(c) A tube of your choosing.
Best choice for this is a tall rather
than wide one.
I think if you select one that appears
to be facing the right looks best.
Do not use a misted tube please.
Performance notes:
All settings will remain the same
unless otherwise noted.
-----------------------------------
OPEN PAINT SHOP PRO
1 File > Open
Open your tube
2 Image > Resize
Settings:
Resample using = Smart Size
Lock aspect ratio = Checked
Resize all layers = Checked
Width = will adjust itself automatically
Height = 380 pixels
OK
3 Edit > Copy
4 (E) Dropper Tool
Set your Foreground color to a medium
light shade from your tube.
For your Background color a lighter
shade of your foreground color would
be the best.
Here is an example:

5 Minimize your tube
6 Material Palette
For your Foreground select the

This will put a tight selection around
your gears.

them again.

15 Layers > New Raster Layer
16 Edit > Paste > Paste Into Selection
This pastes the copied tube image into
the gear shapes
17 Lower the opacity on this layer
to about 30.
Note: You are fading the pasted tube
to make it appear like a reflection
against the gears underneath.
18 Selections > Select None
If you have a floating selection
then Selections > Defloat
19 Edit > Paste > Paste as New Layer
This will be our tube image
20 (M) Move Tool
Move your image to the left side
adjacent to the left edge and centered
between the top and bottom.

The reason we lower it that much is
to keep it easy to read the text on it
when we finish. It will show up when
we add our light color background to
it in a few steps ahead. lol
