NEEDED:
I did this in Paint Shop Pro 9
(a) BumsRushSB.pspimage
(b) A close to square shaped graphic

Performance notes:
We will be pasting a graphic into a circular
selection so the focus of the image should
be in the center . Multi colored graphics
will work well for the swirl that we use.

All settings will remain the same unless
otherwise noted.

OPEN PAINT SHOP PRO

1  Open your graphic of choice

2  Edit > Copy

3  Dropper Tool
Select a dominant color from
your graphic as your Foreground
color. This is going to be your
background color of your side
border tile.
Select a background color from
your graphic or you might prefer
using a gold or silver pattern
fill etc.. Up to you.
This will be used to color your frame
borders.

4  File > Open
BumsRushSB.pspimage

5  Shift + D (duplicates image)

6  Close the BumsRushSB.pspimage

Now your duplicate will probably be
showing as Image 3 unless you had
something else already opened in
psp.

7  Selections > Select All

8  Edit > Paste > Paste into Selection
This will paste the graphic into Image 3

9  Effects > Distortion Effects > Twirl
Settings:
Degrees = 720
   OK

10  Effects > Texture Effects > Emboss

11  Selections > Select None

12  Effects > Image Effects > Seamless
Tiling
Settings:
Tiling method = Corner
Direction = Bidirectional
Both Horizontal and Vertical offsets at 0
Transition% = 50
Linear = Checked
   OK

13  Layers > New Raster Layer

14  Flood Fill Tool
Settings:
Match mode = None, Sample Merged
Flood fill your new layer with your
Foreground color.

15  Lower the opacity slightly on your
new filled top layer so the layer shows
the texture of the layer underneath.
To me it looks like it would be 90-95.
Adjust to your preference.
Sometimes less is more artistically
speaking! lol
Note: I prefer not to merge layers after
this so at the end I can make any final
adjustments to improve the appearance
before I save.

16  Layers > New Raster Layer

17  Selections > Load/Save Selection >
Load Selection From Alpha Channel
Settings:
Load from Document.. should be Image 3

44  Effects > 3D Effects > Cutout
   OK

45  Selections > Select None

46   Lower the opacity on this cutout
layer to about 14. It should almost
look more like a shadow than a cutout.

47  Click and drag this layer down to
the 3rd from the bottom. This will be
above the color filled layer in your
layers palette.

48  This is the time to make any last
minute adjustments you might want.
