How to opt out of Grouply.com from accessing your websites Owners!

 

First you should notify your co-owners and mods will be notified

from grouply that there is a change being made. So you should notify

your group management that they will be receiving a letter from grouply.com

and to just delete it. The owner is making changes to protect the group.

Note that you will have to go through this same process for each of your

Yahoo groups as owner individually. If you have 2 groups you own, you

will have to do it twice etc.

 

Grouply has set up a control to allow owners to disable their groups from Grouply access!  Below I have written the instructions in how to do so!
 
***NOTE: YOU DO NOT HAVE TO REGISTER WITH GROUPLY TO FOLLOW THESE STEPS***
 
I have gone in and disable every group I own and encourage all of you that own yahoo groups to do the same!!! 
 
1: Go to this link: http://www.grouply.com/owner_controls.php
2: Go to your http://groups.yahoo.com/mygroups and
copy the group name from there and paste it into the
box. I have a lot of groups so it is quickest to do it this way.
 
3: Click the 'Send Mail' button
4: Wait a minute, then receive your mail.
Grouply will send an email to the group owner with an access code: copy that access code.
5: Paste it into the access code box
6: Click the 'submit' button
7: Make sure Disable is checked (this option is on the next page after you press the "submit" button on the previous step).
8: Click the SAVE button
 
FYI: I HAVE DONE THIS SAME PROCESS FOR ALL MY GROUPS ON YAHOO!!! (and you will have to do each one individually)
 
I DO NOT MIND IF YOU PASS THIS INFORMATION ON TO OTHER GROUP OWNERS THAT YOU KNOW!!!!

I advise you to save your group memberships list incase you have to close your
group down from being spammed or losing it overnight for some unknown reason.
