The Deleted Items folder contains all email that you deleted from your other folders. It is recommended that you empty the Deleted Items folder from time to time, to avoid the build up of old and unwanted email, which may make your email environment heavy and slow.

If you select "Empty 'Deleted Items' Folder " and the folder is not emptied, please do the following steps once, and in the future you will be able to use the standard procedure to empty the Deleted Items folder.

  • Right-click on the IncrediMail Tray Icon (orange envelope) that is located in the lower right corner (near the computer clock) and select 'Exit'.

  • If you are using Windows NT, 2000 or XP, go to the following location:

    C:\Documents and Settings\Your Profile(Logon Name)\Local Settings\Application Data\IM\Identities\{Long Number}\Message Store

Note: If you are unable to view the Local Settings folder,

  • If you are using Windows 98 or ME, go to the following location:

    C:\Windows\Application Data\IM\Identities\{Long Number}\Message Store

  • Delete the 'Deleted Items.imm' and the 'Deleted Items.imh' files.

  • Open IncrediMail - the emails will have been deleted from your Deleted Items folder, and you will be able to continue to empty your Deleted Items folder using the standard procedure.
