NEEDED:

PaintShopPro
A wide graphic
Simple Filters > Zoom Out and Flip
AlienSkin Eye Candy:
Any version that has the Glass
effect. We will be using the default
clear setting with no drop shadow.
 
Performance notes:
All settings remain the same
unless otherwise stated.
--------
OPEN PSP
 
1  File > Open
Wide graphic of your choice.
 
2  Window > Duplicate
 
3  Close the original
 
 
4  Image > Resize
Settings:
Resample using = Smart Size
Lock aspect ratio = Checked
Resize all layers = Checked
Width no more than 580 pixels
Height no more than 430
 
5  Dropper Tool
Pick a light color from your graphic
for the Foreground color.
Pick a dark shade of the same color
for your background color.
Example
 
6  Materials Palette
Change your Foreground to Gradient.
Settings:
Foreground-background
Texture = NOT Checked
Repeats = 10,  Invert = NOT Checked
Style = Sunburst
All the rest of the settings at 50 each.
Link center and focal points = Checked
 
7  Image > Add Borders
Settings:
Symmetric = Checked, 1 Pixels
Color = Black
 
8  Image > Add Borders = 2 Pixels
Foreground color.
 
9  Magic Wand Tool
Settings:
Mode = Replace
Match mode = RGB Value
Tolerance = 0, Use all layers = Checked
Contiguous = Checked, Feather = 0
Anti-alias = Checked,  Outside
  Select the new border.
 
10  Effects > Plugins > Eye Candy >
(any version)
Glass > Clear (no shadow) at default
settings.
 
 
11  Image > Add Borders = 4 Pixels
Background color.
 
12  Magic Wand Tool
Select the new border.
 
13  Effects > Plugins > Eye Candy >
Glass > Clear
 
14  Image > Add Borders = 2 Pixels
Foreground color.
 
15  Magic Wand Tool
Select the new border.
 
16  Effects > Plugins > Eye Candy >
Glass > Clear
 
17  Image > Add Borders = 1 Pixels
Color = Black
 
 
18  Selections > Select All
 
19  Selections > Modify
Contract = 10
 
20  Selections > Invert
 
21  Edit > Copy
 
22  Image > Add Borders = 20 Pixels
Any color not in graphic.
 
23  Magic Wand Tool
Select the new border.
 
24  Flood Fill Tool
Settings:
Match mode = None
Use all layers = Not Checked
Blend mode = Normal, Opacity = 100
  Flood fill with your gradient.
 
 
25  Layers > New Raster Layer
 
26  Edit > Paste > Paste Into Selection
 
27  Selections > Select None
 
 
28  Layers > Duplicate
 
29  Layers Palette
Make your middle layer active.
 
30  Effects > Distortion Effects >
Polar Coordinates
Settings:
Rectangular to polar
Transparent
 
31  Effects > 3D Effects > Drop Shadow
Settings:
Vertical and Horizontal both at 2
Opacity = 30,  Blur = 2.00
Color = Black
Shadow on new layer = NOT Checked
 
32  Layers > Duplicate
 
33  Image > Flip
 
34  Layers Palette
Make the top layer active.
 
35  Effects > 3D Effects > Drop Shadow
 
36  Layers > Merge > Merge Visible
 
37  Layers > New Raster Layer
Add your watermark.
 
38  File > Export > JPEG Optimizer
Compression = 25
Do not close this!
 
BACKGROUND TILE
 
1  Delete your watermark layer.
You should have only one layer
left when you do that.
 
2  Image > Resize
Settings:
Resample using = Smart Size
Lock aspect ratio = Checked
Resize all layers = Checked
Width = 400 Pixels
Height will adjust itself.
 
3  Effects > Plugins > Simple
Zoom out and Flip
 
4  Layers > New Raster Layer
 
5  Flood Fill Tool
Fill the new layer with one of your
chosen colors. The light or dark one.
 
6  Layers Palette
Lower the layer opacity to make it
text friendly
 
7  File > Export > JPEG Optimizer
Compression = 25
