There's a piece of land that's owned by me

On it stands an old sycamore tree

Sit on the side where would be shade

Silver rain has washed the sun away

Angry clouds hide the sun today

The squirrel and me both sitting in the haze

Squirrel on the ground is fussing at me

His home is somewhere up in this tree

Squirrel on the ground wants me to leave

Clucking sounds echoing through the trees

Morning dew has touched my face

Stand up straight and I stretch my legs

Touch empty parts of my heart

Nothings changed the pain's the same so far

Touched fulfilled parts of my heart

The candle's lit but the room's still is dark

Looked for a fire in my soul

that burned brightly in me long ago
